How to Study for the Classes?
assalam alaykum Mufti sahib,
I was wondering if you could tell us what our goal
should be in each class?
Especially if we intend to continue our studies with you till hidayah etc.
jazakallah khayr

Re: How to Study for the Classes?
Wa'alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Generally, in the Alim class, the goals of Mukhtasar al-Quduri are as follows:
1) To learn the basic masaail of the Hanafi Madhab,
2) Know the earliest views in the Madhab,
3) Learn Arabic vocabulary through the text,
4) Some Darul Ulums use Quduri as a means of doing Tarkeeb. However, since our lessons are only 30 minutes a day, we will not focus on this.
As for Nuzha an-Nadhr, make it a means of learning the following:
1) Terminologies of Usul al-Hadith,
2) Views of the Mutakhirun on different principles,
3) Hanafi Usul,
As for Bulugh al-Maraam, the following should be attained:
1) Respect for different schools of thought, realizing that they all had Ahadith to back up their opinions,
2) Understanding the Hanafi approach to Hadith,
3) Learning the core proofs of the Hanafi Madhab.
Wassalam
